Dealing with Rejection
So I tried something different yesterday. I brought my XanGo opportunity to a small local gym owner. Well needless to say he shot me down before I even got through my whole presentation. Man, after he said no, I ran out of there as fast as I could with my tail between my legs. I’m not going to go into the details on what I said or why I think he shot me down, but more on what I was thinking afterwards; things I should have done or said after the rejection.
First of all, just so you know, this was my first attempt at this, and it was way outside of my comfort zone. I had to work up a lot of courage to finally walk in and talk to the owner, and I was very nervous. But here is a few things that I though about afterwards that should be done when rejected:
1. Leave the owner a business card: I handed the guy my card when I first introduced myself, but as soon as he said no, he handed it back to me and I left. Well since he already had it in his hand, I should have said something to the effect of “ok, well why don’t you hold onto my card and if you hear or come across anything that sparks your interest in the future, feel free to contact me.” It’s very business like, and you put into their mind (subconsciously) that they might hear something later on and now they know who to talk to about it.
2. Get the tools in their possession to listen to: The goal as to be to leave them with the tools you came with to give them. We have heard it time and time again, “Let the tools do the work”, “Be the messenger not the message.” Well I failed in this aspect miserably. I left with the tools in my hand not his. When I was giving my presentation, I started going into too much detail about how everything would be executed, in which he said he didn’t have the time. Right there I made his mind up for him. Getting the tools in front of him will allow him to make his mind up on his own.
3. Short and sweet: I’m not going to say I know exactly how to do this yet, but you can’t come across as trying to sell them. Keep it short and try to spark interest. This will want him to listen to the tools and make up his own mind.
4. If they don’t want to sign-up, then simply ask if you can leave a brochure display or something that will reach his customers. You never know, if a lot of people are interested and he sees that, he may call you back.
5. And finally always thank them for their time. They are busy business men and women and the fact that they just took 5 minuets to listen to you is huge. So be sure to say thank you for taking the time out to listen.
Well that’s about all I have to say this time. I’m really interested on what you think, so comment on whether this stuff makes since or am I just retarded. So until next time…

Real Salt Lake by XanGo
Hey All,
Just came across this video and thought it was pretty good. The ingenious marketers at XanGo, spoofed a Sportscenter commercial with them highlighting their sponsorship of the Real Salt Lake MLS team. I tell ya, this is something XanGo does extremely well. They take excellent marking ideas and put them to use. Plus it looks to me like they all have a good time doing it. This whole video was filmed at the XanGo headquarters and by the staff that works there. So enjoy the video.

Hello world!
Hey, I’m Brad Hager and this is my first BLOG. As I am starting to transition out of the navy, I try to fill my time with many things including, well JOBS I guess you could call them, but I would rather classify them as streams of income. First off, I am an independent distributor for XanGo, LLC, the first company to market a mangosteen health beverage, which I think is just an amazing product and business opportunity. I am a member of the Corpus Christi Hooks (AA team for the Houston Astro’s) Party Patrol which pretty much supplies the entertainment side of things during their home games. And finally I am diving in head first to internet marketing. Trying to figure it out and come up with a way to earn a passive residual income. This blog will pretty much contain any crazy idea that comes into my mind as well as contain videos, pictures, whatever, of things going on in my life or things that I see are interesting. So enjoy and be sure to check back often and leave lots of comments. Later.
